Member Nominated Trustee Director Election Process
A vacancy occurs for a MNTD when a Trustee resigns or when a Trustee’s term of office comes to an end. Applications will be invited from members: HGPS members with deferred pensions and HGPS pensioners (including spouses and adult dependants but excluding those in receipt of a child’s pension). This is usually done via letters dispatched to all members, via mail and email if you have supplied XPS with this . If more than one person applies, a ballot of all members will be held. Each of those members shall have one vote. The candidate receiving the most votes will be appointed.
Members who wish to be considered as a candidate when there is a MNTD vacancy must consider whether they would have a conflict of interest in assuming the role of a MNTD and ensure they would have the time available to carry out the role.
In all cases the HGPS Trustee Directors will determine the eligibility of potential MNTD candidates.
Please note, if you wish to supply XPS with your email address for communication purposes, please send your email and a request your member file is updated to HGPS@XPSgroup.com.
[This note formally records the policy for the process for the election of MNTDs unless, in particular circumstances, the Principal Employer and the other Trustee Directors agree to vary the terms of the policy.]
